Rumor: COD: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered’s Campaign-only

Rumor: COD: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered’s Campaign-only

Rumors have been rumbling that Activision is continuing its remasters of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series. Indeed, a listing appeared on Amazon Italy for Modern Warfare 2 Remastered , with an April 30 release date and a price tag of €19.99. Reliable rumor publisher Eurogamer is corroborating this story, not only that this game does in fact exists, but that a striking departure from its predecessor is the reason for the much lower price.

According to both Eurogamer and Call of Duty site CharlieIntel, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered will not include multiplayer. Yes, this will be a campaign-only release of one of the most well-regarded online shooters of all time. Interesting!

This is a big change from the previous Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered , which was fully featured and included online multplayer. Of course, that release was also the center of a lot of controversy due to how it was released. First, one had to shell out for a special version of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare . Then, it finally released standalone about a year later, but with a relatively high retail price.
