President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America Jack Tretton may have confirmed the launch window of the much-anticipated MMOFPS DUST 514 in an interview with FOX Business.
The EVE Online tie-in shooter has been set to launch at some point this year exclusively for PS3, but developer CCP Games has remained mum on an exact date.
However, when Tretton was discussing Sony’s strategy for the PS3 and PS Vita for the upcoming year, he said: “We do have free-to-play games. A game called DUST 514 is a full-blown first-person shooter available on PlayStation 3 that not only allows you to play against your friends on PS3, but also against people on the PC.”
Tretton was then asked to clarify whether the name of the game was “Dusk” or “Dust,” to which he said: “Dust…coming out next month.”
Now, that may have been nothing more than a slip of the tongue, but it’s at least something. We’ll keep it a rumor for now, but it appears we may be getting some space shooting action soon enough.
