The Rumor Round-Up summarizes and highlights the most important gaming related gossip over the past week. This weekly article, in conjunction with the Week in Review, will keep you plugged in and in-tune. Despite Capcom’s claims that Street Fighter IV was to be published in-house, EGM has reported that DIMPS, not Capcom, is developing the fighter . DIMPS is responsible for such games as Digimon: Battle Spirit 1 & 2, Rumble Fish, a slew of Dragon Ball Z titles including the upcoming Burst Limit, and even the Sonic Advance and Rush series. This is as of yet unconfirmed, but highly likely. Activision CEO Bobby Kottick predicts a slash in console pricing due to economic pressures in the United States . Mr. Kotick stated “With the rising costs of fuel and food and housing, it is more difficult to go out and buy a $399 console, and I think it’s going to put pressure on the console manufacturers to reduce their prices.” Lastly, the fan site known as Diablo3.com has been purchased by Blizzard and will be known hereafter as DiabloFans.com . Despite this obvious clue, Blizzard won’t confirm anything, claiming that it purchases domains all the time. The definitely a line, however. Blizzard’s most likely just waiting for the merger with Activision to go through before outlining clear plans for the future. Thanks so much everyone and we will see you next week! |
