Shadow of Mordor’s Release Has Been Moved Up

Shadow of Mordor’s Release Has Been Moved Up

A few days ago, we reported that The Evil Within ’s release date has been pushed up a bit. Now, another game, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is being moved up a week from October 7th. The game will now release on September 20 th , 2014 on consoles (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) and will be getting a PC release two days later on October 2 nd .

WB games has not said why it has moved the game up, but it’s likely to avoid competing with the long list of October blockbusters this year. Shadow of Mordor was competing with Alien: Isolation, Driveclub, NBA 2k15, NBA Live 15, and Project Spark , and that’s just on the week of October 7 th . If you open it up to all of October you’d have to compete with Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Evolve, Civilization: Beyond Earth, Assassin’s Creed Unity, and Sunset Overdrive . In short, pretty much every fall blockbuster all at once.
