Shadowrun Returns Already Fully Funded

Shadowrun Returns Already Fully Funded

None

Yesterday, we reported that Harebrained Schemes had launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for Shadowrun Returns, a sequel that fans have been dreaming about since 1989. Well, within 28 hours of the launch, Harebrained Schemes had raised every penny needed for the project and donations are still rolling it.

“Wow, that was incredible,” reads the developer blog. “From the bottom of our hearts, we’d like to say THANK YOU to everyone who has backed us so far. If we weren’t working our butts off on our new game, we’d be dancing around the Closet (our tiny office) with tears of joy streaming down our faces. Instead, the team is heads-down at their computers, sniffling loudly and wiping their eyes with their shirt-sleeves.”

So far, they have raised over $550,000, which means that they’ll have more than enough to release a Mac version.

Hopefully all of this success means that Harebrained Schemes can move out of that tiny office, and perhaps we won’t have to wait 20 more years for another sequel.
