It’s been a while since a solid SimCity title has hit the market, but that may be about to change. German magazine GameStar got the chance to sit down with Lucy Bradshaw, General Manager over at Maxis (the company behind the SimCity franchise), and she confirmed that a new SimCity title is on its way. The game is supposedly scheduled for 2013, but no official announcement has been made. According to Bradshaw, part of the reason that it SimCity 5 has taken so long to develop is because Maxis has been focusing its attention on The Sims and Spore. The developer purportedly wanted to be able to get the graphical and multiplayer elements just right and didn’t think that they could do justice to the SimCity franchise if their attention was spread across several titles.
