Song of the Deep Gets Release Date, New Trailer

Song of the Deep Gets Release Date, New Trailer

I’d love to be a fly on the wall at Insomniac Games right now. There’s so much going on. Ratchet & Clank is fresh off the presses and doing well, three Oculus exclusives are in the works as Insomniac ventures into the realm of VR, and Song of the Deep is being published by GameStop’s new publishing venture GameTrust this summer. I guess we finally know what Insomniac has been up to over these recent, quiet months. Though I’m looking forward to playing all of these (I’ll be diving into Ratchet & Clank tonight after work), Song of the Deep is the most imminent among the unreleased titles.

In Song of the Deep you play as Merryn: a brave, adventurous lass who assembles a makeshift submarine and sets out to find her father. It’s a metroidvania-style game, so you can expect a sprawling, connected world, full of secrets and upgrades. Today GameStop revealed the official release date, and you’ll be able to get your hands on Song of the Deep July 12. It will be available on Steam, and you’ll obviously be able to get the game at GameStop as well. Check out the new trailer below:
