Sony Confirms “Rain” And “Until Dawn”

Sony Confirms “Rain” And “Until Dawn”

None

Last week, trademarks were spotted for two unannounced-at-the-time games from Sony: Rain and Until Dawn. There was no word from the company regarding them, no details of what they might entail or whether they even existed, just the names trademarked and left to incite speculation.

Today at Gamescom, Sony unveiled both titles during their press conference.

Until Dawn, as the name might imply, appears to be a survival horror game set in a decrepit cabin and the woods surrounding it. It has that slasher-flick feel (along with the appropriate quality of acting) and promises PlayStation Move support for weapons and items. There are seven characters, all of whom must be kept alive until, you guessed it, dawn.

Rain, on the other hand, is an adventure game in which the player controls a child in an always-overcast world, the caveat being that this child is wholly invisible. He appears only in silhouette, and only when standing in the rain. At all other times, he disappears, though his footsteps resonate through puddles. It’s a thoroughly intriguing premise.

No word on either game’s release, but both look very interesting.
