Sony Home Being Used by Microsoft?

None

According to an article published by GAAP, a finance and accounting headhunting portal, heavyweights such Ernst & Young, Merrill Lynch, and even Microsoft are part of a Portsmouth University study, commissioned by Advanced Workplace Associates, that is using Sony Home as a virtual communication medium. The study is looking for alternatives that will allow large companies to successfully communicate while cutting costs and reducing carbon emissions.

Managing director of Advanced Workplace Associates, Andrew Mawson, stated, “Increasingly we are living in a world without borders where workers need to collaborate on a global scale. Audio and video-conferencing solutions have emerged but the use of virtual worlds may offer the next evolution in overcoming the tyranny of distance – a more realistic and learning-enhanced environment.”

However, the info sourced is highly questionable. It’s doubtful Microsoft would lend clout to Sony Home by participating in a study that centers on the competitor’s program, especially considering Microsoft has developed, uses, and distributes its own telecommuting software and systems for virtual collaboration.
