Sony is looking to tap into the creativity of the homebrew scene. A panel will be held at this year’s Game Developers Conference to encourage some creative tinkering. John McCutchan (SCEA) will head the panel, titled “Update on PlayStation Move Development,” which has two main goals: to bring developers up to speed on development for Move and to discuss the Move Server project, which is meant to encourage “academics and hobbyists” to make interesting software. ![]() Microsoft’s decision to make the drivers for Kinect open source has led to some surprisingly inventive uses for the device, though it hasn’t come without a few hiccups. A move by Sony to harness some of that creativity could be beneficial. |
