In order to end the PlayStation 4’s most recent promotional campaign with a bang, Sony has decided to put up a motley crew of the props used in their “Greatness Awaits” video up for auction to PS3 owners. But this isn’t your average eBay-flavored sale.
After you head to BidForGreatness.com , you’ll have to login with your PSN ID in order to be eligible to bid. What are you bidding with, you may ask? Why, your PSN Gold Trophies, of course! In lieu of a typical cash auction, which would invariably lead to exorbitant final prices, you’ll be bidding for greatness with your hard-earned gameplay hallmarks. Not to worry; you won’t lose the trophies that you bid with. However, your trophies are only eligible for one purchase. Otherwise, the gamer with the most trophies could go all in every time and win it all.
The 15-piece auction begins July 16 th with a Black Hand Outfit straight from Killzone: Shadow Fall and continues until the end of the month. “A new item will open (and close!) each day at 1:00pm Pacific Time,” Sony detailed in the auction’s announcement.
The merch lineup includes bits and bobs from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Diablo III, The Last of Us, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag , and more, so there’s sure to be something for everyone.
I never was much of a trophy hunter, and now it’s come back me to bite me.
