The Sony Rewards Program has long been a way for Sony fans to make purchases through Sony services and gain points to later turn into rewards, an especially beneficial system for anyone with a PlayStation Credit Card. Now, Sony has sweetened the deal even more, by assigning point values to trophies players earn if they link their PlayStation Network accounts to the service.
The service goes into effect once you have an account and link your PlayStation Network account. It aso doesn’t apply to retroactive trophy acquisitions, so don’t expect to cash in with your years of earnings up until now. But going forward, you can earn 100 points for every 100 silvers, 250 points per 25 golds and 1,000 for every ten platinums.
For an example of the stakes, 1,000 points can be traded in for a $10 PlayStation Network card. So it’s a grind, but one that can pay off for dedicated trophy hounds. This also would combine with existing point-earning methods, so again anyone with a PlayStation card or other affiliated services stands to benefit quite a bit.
