Sony unveiled a new teaser trailer tonight, and the gaming community is incredibly hyped. We have absolutely no idea what we’re hyped about, but we’re definitely happy. The trailer involves a lot of sparks and polygons and the PlayStation button labels, but that’s about it. The teaser ends with a simple blue PlayStation logo and the date February 20 th , 2013, obviously teasing some sort of huge announcement.
There’s literally no other information in the teaser, but the gaming community has already erupted with speculation. Some of the theories seen in the comments section involve an announcement for Uncharted 4, more information on Beyond: Two Souls, a new PS Plus promotion, something involving the PS Vita, something about Sony’s Gaikai tie-in, a PSN sale, an announcement of Gran Turismo 6, and more. Of course, the most widely held theory is that Sony will be announcing the PlayStation 4. Even though it’s easily the most plausible theory thrown on the table, it’s also one of the weirdest. The timing is very odd. Announcements like this are typically made closer to E3, which is when all of the current rumors say the PS4/Orbis is to be announced.
There’s no real way to know for sure what Sony is announcing until February 20 th rolls around. So just sit tight. Or just watch the teaser on repeat over and over again.
