Square Enix To Release Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Ultimate Box Set

Square Enix To Release Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Ultimate Box Set

Square Enix has announced that it will celebrate Final Fantasy’s 25 th anniversary by releasing a special Ultimate Box set that will include, among other things, the first 13 main entries in the company’s flagship RPG series.

The reveal was made during the publisher’s special anniversary event for the series in Tokyo this morning. The collection will include the PSOne versions of Final Fantasies I, II, and IV through IX, the PSP version of Final Fantasy III, the PS2 versions of Final Fantasy X, XI, and XII, and the PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIII.

The bundle will also contain a video detailing the franchise’s anniversary, an art booklet called “Crystal Artworks,” a special Moogle mini-statue, a code for in-game earrings in Final Fantasy XIV, and a two-disc soundtrack of select music from throughout the series’ history.

The whole thing has officially only been announced for Japan thus far, and is scheduled for release on December 18. It’s priced at ¥35,000. If and when the Ultimate Box makes its way Westward, that would translate to somewhere around $447.00.

Also announced are three “Memorial Ultimania” artbooks. According to Andriasang, these books will also arrive on December 18, and will feature 320 pages of Final Fantasy artwork—some of which is never-before-seen—each. Those will cost ¥3,255 a piece, which would be about $42.00, and will be sold exclusively through the Square Enix e-Shop.
