One of the most popular games to come out of the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year was Super Mario Odyssey . The game introduced a brand new mechanic where Mario throws his hat (Cappy) and captures enemies, thus controlling them. It’s definitely turning heads, and people are really excited to give it a try when Super Mario Odyssey releases on October 27 for the Nintendo Switch. But you can try it even earlier!
Some are so excited to give the new capture mechanic a try that they just couldn’t wait. There’s a Nintendo modder who has included a similar option into Super Mario 64 . He modded the game so that you can throw your hat and it will capture enemies like Goombas, Shy Guys, and Bob-ombs. Not only that, but the Super Mario 64 mod allows you to control platforms and blocks. This latter inclusion obviously won’t be included in Super Mario Odyssey , but it seems like a ton of fun in this mod.
