Super Mario 64 Online Hack Supports 24 Players

Super Mario 64 Online Hack Supports 24 Players

Hacking older games is always a good time, especially when a group of modders gets together and makes a game do something it was never intended to do. For example, a new mod allows up to 24 people to get together and play Super Mario 64 together. Remember, this is a game that was strictly single-player in its original form.

Simply called Super Mario 64 Online , the project, developed by Kaze Emanuar, Melonspeedruns, and Marshivolt, uses a Super Mario 64 ROM to run and goes through a normal emulator. Once player boot it up and connect, they can choose a character and everyone gets dropped into a synched instance of the game. They can interact with each other or go their separate ways.

A preview video released alongside the mod shows how it works a bit. Players are shown playing hide and seek in the haunted mansion stage and racing each other on Bob-Omb Battlefield. The video also shows off that not only are multiple characters available, they all function differently from Mario. Yoshi can flutter, Peach can float, so on and so forth. It’s super impressive!

There is no way Nintendo will allow this to exist for long, so grab and enjoy it while you can!
