SWTOR Hits 1.7 Million Subscribers, Gets Guild Summit

EA filed their financial report yesterday and simultaneously got a chance to brag about how popular Star Wars: The Old Republic has actually become. According to the report, The Old Republic has roughly 1.7 million active subscribers, and is continuing to grow.

The report also claims that EA is the number one publisher in the western markets, and that their market share is only getting larger.

In an effort to continue increasing that market share, one of EA’s developers, BioWare, is preparing to hold a guild summit for players of Star Wars: The Old Republic. The developer is inviting guild leaders from around the world to join them in Texas on March 6th and 7th to“facilitate an open discussion between guild leaders and the game design team.”

“This event will provide an opportunity for attendees to voice their feedback directly to the teams responsible for the design of Star Wars: The Old Republic, hear the team’s thoughts and reasons behind design decisions, and discuss the current direction of the game,” explained a BioWare representative.

Invitations to the even have been sent out, but don’t get the idea that BioWare is paying for anything. “Guild leaders selected to attend are responsible for all of their travel, food and lodging expenses,” explained BioWare.
