Tecmo Koei’s Packing All Its Heroes into Musou Stars

Tecmo Koei’s Packing All Its Heroes into Musou Stars

You know those Dynasty Warriors , Samurai Warriors , One Piece: Pirate Warriors , and Dynasty Warriors: Gundam games? Well, in Japan they all belong to the Musou series. It’s a general label for their beat ’em ups. And, at Sony’s 2016 Tokyo Game Show press conference, Tecmo Koei announced a Musou game to end all Musou games. Musou Stars will bring in characters from some of Tecmo Koei’s most famous games for the biggest beat’em up ever.

So far, all we have is a Musou Wars trailer that shows off some of the stars of the game. But, the lineup already looks pretty promising. Lots of these faces are familiar! Keep an eye out for Kasumi, from Dead or Alive , and Ryu , from Ninja Gaiden!

I’m especially excited to see both Sophie and Opoona, respectively from Atelier Sophie and Opoona , making cameos.

While Tecmo Koei hasn’t announced a US release yet, I’m pretty confident we’ll see Musou Stars . It’s coming to Japan in 2017 and seems to have plenty of characters from games that have been released worldwide. Also, Musou games are rather easy to localize. Maybe we’ll have a new beat ’em up to enjoy next year too!
