The Division Is Getting a Movie Adaptation

The Division Is Getting a Movie Adaptation

Man, 2015 and 2016 have been big years for video game media adaptation announcements. Sit yourself down, because we aren’t done yet. The latest one is for another Ubisoft-inspired joint. After that Assassin’s Creed movie, we’re going to get one based on The Division.

Information on The Division movie is scant. All Ubisoft had to say is that it is happening and the two lead actors have been picked. Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain will star in the production. Gyllanhaal’s Nine Story Productions and Chastain’s Freckle Films, their production companies, will be working on the movie as well.

Ubisoft is really going all in on game movies. Think about it. The Assassin’s Creed movie, starring Michael Fassbender, will be out on December 21, 2016. We already know a Splinter Cell movie, with Tom Hardy, is in the works. And apparently The Division will be joined by Ghost Recon , Rabbids , and Watch Dogs films. It’s a pretty big risk. Think it’s smart for them to get that involved?
