After a month full of screaming, eldritch rituals, and disappointment through the month of January (and some random Twitter announcements), the time has finally come. Nintendo of America has announced the first Nintendo Direct presentation of the year, and it’s set to air tomorrow. On Wednesday, February 13, 2019, you can tune into Nintendo’s various media channels at 2:00 PM PT/5:00 PM ET for the show.
The Nintendo Direct will be lasting for “roughly” 35 minutes, and it seems it will be exclusively featuring news on Nintendo Switch software. Nintendo specifically points to the upcoming strategy RPG Fire Emblem: Three Houses as the start of the show, so we could be approaching a deep dive on what to expect from that.
Notably, there’s no mention of the 3DS here. Based on recent earnings reports from Nintendo, the 3DS has fallen much more sharply than expected in sales, with games like the remake of Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story failing to perform. Could we be seeing a true end to the 3DS sooner than expected?
