The Last Guardian Has Finally Gone Gold

Industry vets and gaming historians will look back at this period of of time and debate as to whether Final Fantasy XV or The Last Guardian had the more troubled and tumultuous development. First revealed in 2009, The Last Guardian is the third game from famed director Fumito Ueda, who’s best known for the PS2 classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus . Now, almost a decade later, it looks like the game is finally ready to ship.

Producer Jun Yoshino sent out the following tweet (via Eurogamer ): “Gone gold. Waddup.” Don’t celebrate too hard there, Yoshino-san, you still have work to do. Emotional outburst aside, Yoshino’s tweet is a welcome and official confirmation that we can indeed count on The Last Guardian ‘s December 6 release date. No more delays. It’s time to make friends with a giant bird-dog and shed some tears.
