The Next Assassin’s Creed Has Leaked

The Next Assassin’s Creed Has Leaked

According to multiple reports, the next Assassin’s Creed will be a prequel called Assassin’s Creed: Origins . Earlier in the year, leaks suggesting an Egypt setting and subtitle of “Empire” were floating around places like Kotaku. While the new leaks have a different name, the Egypt setting seems very much in place.

Featured so far is a single screenshot that appears to suggest naval travel is back, although naval combat likely won’t be. Other alleged features are playing in the same setting over different time periods, BC-era weapons, some sort of playable eagle segments, and combat inspired by the likes of The Witcher III .

Assassin’s Creed: Origins appears set for launch later this year. It looks like it could potentially be an October release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. There’s no word of a Switch version.

Ubisoft skipped Assassin’s Creed last year, following lesser sales of the 2015 game ( Syndicate ) following a huge backlash for the 2014 game ( Unity ). I imagine the big reveal for Assassin’s Creed: Origins will happen at E3, which is right around the corner.
