The Week in Review and Rumor Round-Up news piece summarizes and highlights the most important gaming related news and rumors over the past week. This weekly article will keep you plugged in and in-tune.

The new PSP firmware update 2.5 allowed users to access the PlayStation Store and better organize and sync music, photos, and other digital content for the PSP. As such, a new Media Manager was released on October 28 th to accommodate the expanded functionality of the handheld.

High Voltage’s “revolutionary” FPS for Wii, The Conduit , has finally solidified a publishing deal. SEGA has picked up the game and will bring the first-person shooter to market in Spring of 2009.

Originally slated to release under the Activision label. Ghostbusters: The Video Game got the axe when Activision and Vivendi Universal merged. Fortunately, it now looks as though Atari will likely pick up the game. Though not yet official, Dan Akroyd (the game’s writer and original film member) has stated that the game will be picked up by Atari. Ghostbusters: The Video Game will supposedly release next Summer to coincide with the original film’s 25th anniversary.

It was also confirmed this week that an exclusive agreement between MTV Game/Harmonix and Apple Corps, EMI Music, Harrisongs Ltd, and Sony/ATV Music Publishing is set to bring The Beatles music to fans for the first time in interactive form in 2009. It has been a long time coming, but now Rock Band owners will be treated to a Beatles-specific title.

GTA IV for PC is getting delayed. Originally set to release in November, Rockstar confirmed this week that GTA IV for PC will be delayed till December 2, 2008. The PC version will have no additional content, but controls have been adapted for mouse and WASD and many graphical adjustments should make the PC version the most attractive edition of the title.

According to a Gamesindustry.biz interview with Paul Oughton, publishing executive for Bethesda, the publisher and developer may have the next iteration of The Elder Scrolls ready for a 2010 release. “At the moment we’ve got Fallout 3 for this year and potentially there’s a new Elder Scrolls title in 2010.”
