The Witcher 3 Won’t Stop Winning Awards

The Witcher 3 Won’t Stop Winning Awards

The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt won’t stop winning awards. I mean, it’s like the thing that just wouldn’t stop. Leave some for the rest of the devs eh, CD Projekt? I guess it’s not their fault – they just made the game – they can’t help that we love it so much. Every single awards show that has anything to do with video games or interactive media has given The Witcher 3 some kind of accolade or trophy, and this year’s Game Developers Choice Awards were no different. The Witcher 3 walked away from the GDC Awards with the ‘Game of the Year’ and ‘Best Technology’ awards.

It was a big night for indie hit Her Story as well, which won awards for ‘Best Handheld / Mobile Game’ and ‘Best Narrative,’ as well as the ‘Innovation Award.’ Ori and the Blind Forest and developer Moon Studios came away with a couple of awards, and Rocket League won the award for ‘Best Design.’ I’m a little surprised that Undertale didn’t win any awards, but I suppose it’s more of a beloved niche title than an industry game-changer. Congrats to all of the developers, and I’m sure we’ll hear about The Witcher 3 again this December when the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony is held in Norway.
