The Witcher VR Mod Gives Players a Whole New Perspective

The Witcher VR Mod Gives Players a Whole New Perspective

The world of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition is going to look a whole lot different on PCs. That is, if someone has a VR-capable headset like the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, or a Windows Mixed Reality device. Patryk Loan has created a The Witcher VR mod. This 3.6GB download from Nexus Mods really takes you into the game. I suppose instead of tossing a coin to your Witcher, you’re handing them a headset.

This The Witcher VR mod requires The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut for PCs. It also isn’t a way to play through the entire game in VR. Rather, it limits people to a specific map. Once you download this and get yourself set up, you’ll be able to step into Geralt’s shoes and walk around Kaedwen’s Kaer Morhen.

Which is actually a really cool region to explore. In The Witcher, Kaer Morhen is where Witchers trained, and it has the old sea fortress where Witchers would live and train. You can look around it, see the mountain view, and essentially enjoy a proof of concept sort of experience. Loan even noted on the official listing the possibility of adapting more locations from the game. While it might sound ambitious and people shouldn’t get too hyped, a prologue was even suggested.

It could be an extra fun thing to enjoy. Especially with The Witcher Netflix show getting more people into the series and the series finding itself ported to even more portable platforms like the Switch.
