There Will Be 10 Exclusive Stadia Games by July 2020

The Google Stadia is essentially in something of an early access phase. While the streaming service is up and running, it’s not yet even scratched everything it could do. While Google was fairly silent about timelines in November and December, it has come into January 2020 with a roadmap that includes 10 exclusive games by July 2020 and a number of essential features.

The announcement of exclusive Stadia games was the priority in this update. However, it only offers numbers and no names. 10 exclusives are scheduled to appear in the first half. A ballpark figure for the 2020 library size came up too. If all goes according to the company’s plans, there should be at least 120 people can stream before the year ends.

The rest of the update is an overview for things people will get soon. Some are features that probably should have been available at launch, while others are the sorts of things that people could understand being a later addition. Among the things that could desperately be needed is more mobile support. Currently, Stadia is only compatible with Google Pixel phones, and the roadmap confirms more Android models will be compatible. 4K web gaming is coming too, though people should remember that true 4K compatibility depends on the developers. Stadia wireless web gameplay and Assistant functionality are also planned.

However, one thing that didn’t come up in the update is new games being added to the library in January 2020. The last update occurred back in the middle of December 2019 and brought Borderlands 3, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint to the service.
