If you haven’t heard of Left 4 Dead Survivors , you could be forgiven. It’s the first arcade only conversion of a major franchise that we have seen in a while, and to this date it may be the only conversion of an FPS. Valve has partnered with Taito to produce the game, which will mix content from both Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 together in one arcade shooting fest.
Strangely enough, this actually isn’t the first time that Taito has helped Valve bring one of their games to the arcade. In 2006, Taito released Half-Life 2: Survivor , which once again was a reproduction of the game for arcade cabinets. Although, the arcade version did include a lot of elements that made the game progress quicker, including arrows that pointed you in the right direction so you didn’t spend time just wandering around.
Taito has recently released a brand new trailer for Left 4 Dead Survivors , but for now it looks pretty much exactly the same as the PC game, no new elements whatsoever… that is except for the new Japanese voice actors that sound anime as heck! Although I have no idea who that helpless little girl voice is supposed to be. I sure do hope the stereotypical anime tough guy voice is Francis, cause I thought he hated anime.
