Turok 2 Remaster Still In Development, Multiplayer Preserved

Turok 2 Remaster Still In Development, Multiplayer Preserved

We trust Night Dive Studios. It’s done great work on well-loved classics like System Shock 2 and Turok: Dinosaur Hunter , so we know that Turok 2: Seeds of Evil is in good hands. It’s been a long time since we heard anything about Turok ‘s sequel, though. The original released with little fanfare, even though it was handled with the utmost care. Upgraded visuals, full-HD resolution, silky smooth frame rates, and achievements breathed new life into this wild and dated shooter. We were beginning to fear the worst, but Night Dive recently took to Steam to offer reassurance.

“Working on the rights to these titles can be trick [ sic ],” Night Dive said in its update (via Eurogamer ), “and sometimes contractual obligations prevents the transparency we’ve enjoyed on some of our other titles which is why updates have been mysteriously absent.” We’re told Turok 2 has been in development since the release of the first game, though, it’s just taking some time. “Turok 2 is a bigger game, more enemies, more weapons, more locations and most importantly… Turok 2 had Multiplayer.”

Aha! Now this is what we wanted to hear! It sounds like Night Dive will be preserving and reviving Turok 2 ‘s multiplayer component, which is great news. I can only hope that the game is popular enough to merit a decent player-base upon release, because I have some Goldeneye -tier memories of going toe-to-toe with friends. Night Dive concluded by saying that Turok 2 will release when it’s ready, and didn’t offer a release date. As soon as they let us know, we’ll let you know.
