Vita Downloads Cheaper Than Hard Copies

Vita Downloads Cheaper Than Hard Copies

None

When a fan walked in to Best Buy to browse the PS Vita pre-order catalog, he found something peculiar. It appears as though download codes for PS Vita games were ten percent cheaper than a physical copy of the exact same game. He posted his findings to NeoGAF. Shacknews took notice, reaching out to Sony for a comment on this peculiar discount.

Sony’s response? “I can confirm that there will be a discount on the downloadable PS Vita titles from PSN. Exact details have not yet been revealed, but be on the lookout for an announcement in the very near future.”

Personally, I think this is a good move by Sony. It will make digital copies of the game more desirable and as a result will shift the market toward digital distribution. In my opinion, that could only be good for gaming in the future. Cartridges are so 1990.
