Gamescom came and went without so much as a peep from Microsoft concerning a price cut to their 120 GB model. Today Joystiq got their hands on a Walmart catalog (presumed to be legitimate) that features a $100 price cut for the Xbox 360 Elite. Set to be published on August 30 th , the catalog shows the Elite going for $299 – in line with pricing for the PS3 and PS3 Slim. Not only does this rumor make logical sense, but Amazon is already selling the Halo 3 / Fable II Elite bundle for $399 – that makes that bundle’s value proposition less significant, but it also seems to jive with the rumored new pricing.
