Warriors All-Stars Coming to the West

Warriors All-Stars Coming to the West

Dynasty Warriors fans, join me in rejoicing on this day of wonderful news. Musous All-Stars , the Koei Tecmo crossover extravaganza, has been (predictably) re-branded as Warriors All-Stars for the west. It also has a release date. We can expect Warriors All-Stars to come our way on August 29, 2017, courtesy of Koei Tecmo and Omega Force.

What makes Warriors All-Stars special? Well, it’s a new Musou game, but it’s not starring the usual cast of characters or based on an anime. It’s a Capcom versus-style mash-up of every possible Koei Tecmo license one could thing of, including the recent mass-market success Nioh . Even the super-niche RPGs are covered in this thing.

You can expect characters from Dynasty and Samurai Warriors of course, but also represented are Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive, Nioh (as mentioned earlier), Atelier and even goofy stuff from the Wii era like Opoona . As we’ve seen with games like Hyrule Warriors and Dragon Quest Heroes , Omega Force is really into treating various properties with great respect and care when adapting them to the Warriors formula. Seeing all these interactions between radically different genres with that level of design polish should be a hoot.
