Windows 10 Won’t Compromise Microsoft’s Commitment to Xbox One

Windows 10 Won’t Compromise Microsoft’s Commitment to Xbox One

After the Windows 10 presentation, head of Xbox Phil Spencer responded to a number of queries regarding both the Xbox One and PC. Despite the conference’s focus on Windows and PC, Spencer assures fans that Microsoft will still focus on its current-gen console.

In replying to a concerned Twitter user asking about why consumers should buy an Xbox One if its games will also come to PC, the head of Xbox said that he is still committed to Xbox owners, and that “there will always be unique games, experiences and capabilities on Xbox One,” before adding that the company “will continue to focus on console.”

Also during the this sort of Q&A session, Spencer confirmed that streaming Xbox One games to the PC “will require a controller” instead of a mouse and keyboard. He also acknowledged PC-only gamers wanting more for Microsoft, suggesting that discussions are currently under way and that Microsoft will “have more to come.” He even clarified that only one Xbox One game could be played at a given time with console’s promised Windows 10 streaming feature, meaning that Xbox One gamers won’t be able to play one game whilst streaming another to their PC.

For those interested, the January build of Windows 10 Xbox App is now available for Windows Insider Program participants. Further information on how to join and gain access to the app can be read on the official Windows blog .
