WWE 2K18 Coming to Nintendo Switch

WWE 2K18 Coming to Nintendo Switch

Today, WWE and 2K Games delivered a surprising announcement. After a five-year absence, WWE 2K18 is bringing the series back to a Nintendo platform. While the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of WWE 2K18 are set for October 17, or October 13 for those who purchase the Deluxe Edition, the Switch version is slated for “Fall 2017.” This could suggest the Switch version wasn’t initially planned and needs more time to be ported.

The most interesting part of this announcement is that, in WWE’s announcement, the Switch version seems to have feature parity with the other console counterparts. The article references the MyCareer mode, 8-man matches, and customization modes. This means it could be the same game other systems are getting, only with the ability to play it on the go.

Considering the other big multiplatform Switch effort, FIFA 18, appears to have a different feature set from its peers, this could be great news for wrestling and Nintendo fans. Of course, there aren’t any details on what will inevitably be differences between the two versions. It may be too early to celebrate yet. Let’s remain cautiously optimistic about this 2017 release.
