Xbox 360 Dashboard Update Goes Live, Doubles USB Storage Capacity

Microsoft has released the new Xbox 360 dashboard through an update, consequently doubling the USB storage capacity to 32GB from 16GB.

The update will be delivered to three million Xbox 360 owners initially, with additional users being able to download the new dashboard in the coming weeks.

The update itself delivers a revamped Xbox 360 Dashboard, with Microsoft updating “the UI with a few things, including an updated layout with more tiles, a combined TV & Movies channel and, in the US, a Sports destination.”

Internet Explorer has also been implemented, which supports HTML5 videos. Other notable features include Enhanced Search, Xbox Video (formerly Zune Video Marketplace), as well as an International expansion of Voice Search.

In addition, Microsoft said SmartGlass will be incorporated into the console following the release of its upcoming operating system Windows 8 on October 26 th .
