Xenoblade Chronicles 3D Ships to New 3DS in April

Yesterday,Satoru Iwata and Satoru Shibata ( the presidents of Nintendo and Nintendo of Europe respectively) hosted the first Nintendo Direct of 2015, where it was revealed–among other things–that the 3DS version of Xenoblade Chronicles will release in a few months from now, in April.

The remake of the Wii title will launch exclusively for Nintendo’s new 3DS line, the New 3DS and New 3DS XL. This means that previous 3DS models–and even the 2DS–will not be compatible with the game.

The handheld release of the title will sport new visuals catered for the new hardware’s 3D functionality. Taking advantage of the handhelds’ two screens, Xenoblade Chronicles’ maps and character stats will be made viewable on the bottom screen. A new bonus mode will also let players view 3D models of the game’s characters. and there will even be an option to listen to tracks of the game’s musical soundtrack.

With the New 3DS improved hardware, players will be able to enjoy Xenoblade Chronicles with super-stable 3D, which will allow for play from much wider angles with distortion. The handheld’s new C Stick (essentially another analogue stick) will help for more tactile camera controls, too. You can watch the game’s trailer for the New 3DS via the embedded video below.
