Zyga Gets Sued

Zyga Gets Sued

None

Social games developer Zynga is getting sued by Personalized Media Communications, an intellectual property developer that claims Zynga has infringed on four of its patents. PMC states that many of Zynga’s most popular titles, such as Words with Friends, CityVille, and FarmVille, are all using patented PMC technology.

The patents in question cover things such as personalizing information to a particular user, download management, network management, targeted advertising technologies, and more. In short, it doesn’t actually seem to have anything to do with Zynga’s games themselves, but rather how Zynga advertises and networks within their games.

The suit is taking place in the in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. We will bring you updates on this story as they become available.
