Best Sound Winner 2011

Portal 2 delivered a level of voice acting talent that's nearly unparalleled in the world of gaming. Ellen McLain returns as the diabolical GLaDOS, joined by Stephen Merchant as Wheatley and J.K. Simmons as Cave Johnson. Any one of these people could have carried the entire game on their own; with all three working in tandem, this is one of the most incredible sounding games ever made.

Of course, the iconic sound effects, synthesized background music, and another catchy song by Jonathan Coulton don't hurt either. Video games have never sounded this good.
