The Future of BlazBlue

The Future of BlazBlue

In addition, we can probably speculate on what DLC the game is going to have. In BB:CS, the characters joked around about Jubei joining the cast in BlazBlue 3. This is technically BlazBlue 3, and fans have been waiting for Jubei to join the cast for some time. If Arc isn't flat-out putting him in the new roster, they would be fools not to make some extra money off of packaging him as DLC. Most fans also speculate that Jubei and Kokone come as a package deal, so we most likely will see her join the roster as well.

Finally, we do have to ask one question. Will BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma sell? That is, in fact, a rather hard question to answer. You see, no matter how good the system mechanics are, fans who bought BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EX earlier this year will be jaded to the whole series. Most of us thought that CS:EX was going to be the end of the line for a while. We heard rumors about a new Guilty Gear being made, and we knew for a fact that Persona 4 Arena was coming out. We certainly didn't expect to have to purchase BlazBlue twice in one year. It's possible that Arc System Works has simply oversaturated the market at this point.

The Future of BlazBlue

Frankly, if BB:CP doesn't sell at a severely reduced price, it's going to be a hard sell to anyone who isn't a die-hard fan of the series, especially when there are so many other great fighting games on the market right now. Of course, there is always the threat of BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma 2 EX Plus Edition coming out and causing us to drop yet another 40-60 dollars on the franchise just to stay current.
