What We Want From Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes

A Raiden Back Story

And if we leap ahead into Solid Snake's timeline as I suggested above, why not allow us to witness Raiden's troubled childhood? The footage we've seen thus far revealed a caged child, who we thought could potentially be Jack himself. While the child was apparently revealed by a translator to be Chico rather than Jack, it got us thinking about how cool a Raiden back story could be.

A Worthy Prequel to Metal Gear Solid 5

Kojima mentioned something about Ground Zeroes being a prequel of sorts. Now, while this could have been Kojima misspeaking or a poor translation, we're all hoping he was actually intentionally talking about Metal Gear Solid 5. After all, the only thing better than a new Metal Gear Solid game on the horizon is two new Metal Gear Solid games on the horizon.

The Cleanest HUD in a Metal Gear Game Ever?

One of the things about the gameplay footage that struck me as the most interesting was the complete lack of clutter on the screen. Metal Gear games have always had a HUD, and after MGS2, this became much less necessary. It looks like Ground Zeroes completely strips the HUD away, though Snake has some sort of gauntlet VR menu that he pulls up at one point. As long as it doesn't make weapon/item swapping unnecessarily difficult, a perfectly clean range of vision will definitely come in handy during all that sneaking we hope Snake will be doing.

David Hayter Returns as Snake

Can we really have a Metal Gear Solid game without the illustrious David Hayter? Some fans are rumoring that Ground Zeroes will at least try. And this is possible, with an aged Big Boss resembling his MGS4 cameo (voiced by Richard Doyle) much more than his appearance in MGS3 or Peace Walker. Still, we certainly hope Hayter returns. It's just wouldn't be Snake without that gravelly voice.
