Trials HD is a motorcycle simulation game that uses a sophisticated physics engine in order to make your ride punishingly realistic. However, this game is far from your run-of-the mill motocross racer. Trials HD has plenty of crazy courses and insane challenges that will push your skills to the limit.
The setup for Trials HD is simple. Your goal is to try out new motorcycle-based courses, which fall into two categories: race and skill. The courses in the Race mode feature rugged landscapes, hairpin turns, and plenty of ramps. However, the Skill mode features more stunt-based challenges. Blazing rings of fire and explosions are among the many obstacles your rider will need to overcome in this mode.
The game's control scheme is fairly interesting, as it uses the triggers for braking and accelerating and the left analog stick for balance. The balance mechanic sounds like it will be particularly interesting, as it will really test the player's judgment on ramps and jumps that require not only precision acceleration but accurate shifting of balance as well.
In addition to the fifty tracks already included with the purchase of the game, there will also be an extensive level editor which will allow you to create your own crazy courses. After you make your course, you can then upload it and share it with the community. Since users can create and download as many Trials levels as they want, there should be quite a bit of replay value to this title.
Trials HD looks like it will really be a standout, especially for fans of automotive, motorcycle, and motocross titles. With a solid physics engine, crazy stunt-based and speed-based courses, and plenty of replay value through community-built levels, Trials HD is definitely one to look forward to in the Summer of Arcade line-up.
