Quick start
During the pre-race countdown, accelerate after “2” and before “Ready”. If done correctly, the announcer will say “Boost fire” instead of “Start”.

Platinum Cup
Win the Bronze, Silver and Gold cups on the standard or higher difficulty setting.
Astro Robin
Successfully complete Story mode with Jack Levin.

Win the Silver Cup on the novice difficulty setting.

Successfully complete Story mode with Black Shadow.

Bonus ships
Win Grand Prix mode to unlock the Red Gazelle, Iron Tiger, Deepclaw, Crazy Bear, Big Fang, Wonder Wasp, Crazy Boar, Super Piranha, Mighty Hurricane, Space Angler, Mighty Typhoon, Green Panther, or Blood Hawk. The ship that is unlocked is random. Also, the higher the difficulty setting, the more ships will be unlocked (one for novice, two for standard, or three for expert).
