Games based on WWII are nothing new but they are popular. Axis & Allies is the latest game to be based on some of the greatest battles from this time period. The one will remind gamers of the popular board game Risk in many ways. However, the game is not played with dice. It also is not like the other board game with the same name. Axis & Allies will allow players to build up their strong holds, rally their troops and prepare to do battle against some of the best super-powers in that time period.

There has been a real push of RTS games and this season there are some great choices for fans of these games. A&A is another one with the advantage of being able to play as some of the greatest Generals of the WWII time period. You can play as Patton, Eisenhower, Rommel and Yamato to name a few. The game is not for those looking for a quick battle though. It will take time to build your armies and make your plans of attack.

The game will feature some great 3D graphics. Players can play through several one-player campaigns and then go online against others and go for it in an all out war. The actual act of war is just one part of the game. A good General knows how to keep their resources built up and their troops' morale. Almost every option of the real war will be available to players including the ultimate weapon the atomic bomb. Of course the repercussions of this could back fire on you. The games built in AI is one of the toughest ever made in a game like this. Being able to out think them and beat them will be a real test. Then you can test your skills against others online. Realistic sound and graphics make the game come alive. You will see real time damage as well as planes going down and even trees falling during each battle.

The game has so many options and scenarios it will take a while to get through every one available in the game. As I said before there are plenty of RTS games to choose from this Christmas season. A&A may be the biggest one of them all. Take a look at the screen shot and the game features. The game hits store shelves in November.
