Successfully complete Adventure mode. Start another Adventure mode session. After winning 49 battles, go to the cave where Excaliber is located. Battle 50 will now be available. Defeat Excaliber five consecutive times to unlock him.

Successfully complete Arcade mode to unlock Free.

Successfully complete Arcade mode to unlock Ox and Harvar.
Alternate costumes
Successfully complete Arcade mode. Select the character that completed Arcade mode with L + Circle to use their alternate costume.
