Animal Crossing: New Horizons Cheats for Switch

Since 2001, the Animal Crossing series has swept through the hearts of many gamers worldwide. The fifth installment, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, is no exception. One of the most noteworthy features within the series is the open-world concept and internal calendar and clock, providing players with a real-time feel. Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released in 2020 for the Nintendo Switch.

The central premise of Animal Crossing: New Horizons remains the same as the four previous titles in the series. The main departure of the game is that the characters now live on a deserted island rather than a town. This island is customizable as the player progresses alongside the loved anthropomorphic animals. In this installment, crafting from Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp returned, allowing players expanded customization of furniture and characters.

Duplicating items

Place an item on a 2×1 flat surface (it may also work with the wooden desk and other specific surfaces). Then, remove the item, twist it, and place it only on the very edge of the object. Pick up the TV/any 2×1 object that can be placed on a surface, then try to move it onto the surface —- aim for the very edge of the spot. It should not actually move the 2×1 item when you attempt to place it. Leave the room and return for the item to be duplicated. This glitch only works offline in Local Co-Op on the same Switch.

Sable’s pattern designs

After opening the Able Sisters tailor shop, talk to Sable (brown hedgehog in the back) at least once every day. She will be quiet and reserved at first, but will slowly become friendlier with each day. After 7-10 days, Sable will greet players with a pack of special patterns that can be used in customizations. Players can get one new pack per day; there are 10 packs in total, and each comes with 20 patterns. Sable’s patterns do not appear in the Custom Designs app. They are accessible through the customization screen on an item that accepts custom designs. Choose the new “Pattern” option to the left of “Custom Design.”

Easy money

Each day, one randomly chosen rock in the town will produce bells if it is hit with a shovel. Players can hit it up to eight times, resulting in successively larger payouts per hit. Make sure to dig holes behind the character beforehand so they do not get knocked backward upon impact.

When players see a glowing gold crack in the ground, they will dig up a bag of bells. If players bury a bag of bells of any amount in the glowing hole a money will grow with three bags of bells on it when it fully grows.

Faster crafting

Once players begin crafting a recipe and the materials are being tossed around, repeatedly press A to speed up the process.

Resetting tool durability

To completely reset a tool’s durability, customize it at any workbench. Note: This does not work on axes or flimsy tools.

Secret K.K. Slider tracks

When K.K. Slider holds concerts in the town square on Saturdays, he will take requests for songs after 6 p.m. Players can enter in the title of any track they wish to hear and obtain a copy of the first track they request each week. There are three tracks (“Animal City”, “Drivin’”, and “Farewell”) that do not appear in the “Special Goods” section of Nook Shopping and must be obtained by requesting the title from K.K. Slider when he is giving a concert in the town square.

Furniture trees

Each day there are two trees on the island that will provide a piece of furniture if they are shaken. There is at least one tree at each mystery island that will drop furniture as well. Note: The furniture only falls if players shake the tree rather than hitting it with an axe, and the fruit trees do not drop furniture.

Star fragments

If there is a shooting star, tilt the camera up while not holding anything, and quickly press A to wish on it. The fragments will then wash upon the shore the next day. Players get one star fragment per wish your villager makes for a maximum of 20 fragments. Players can get a max of 20 extra fragments from visitors for a total maximum of 40 fragments per day. Note: Only 10 fragments can appear on the beach at a time. Collect the fragments and check back later to find more.

Creating a one squared tree on a cliff

To do this, players need the island designer tool. Create a 3×3 cliff by any corner, and make a little river (the river near the 3×3 cliff must be curved). Then, go to the cliff and place a tree in the middle — the game will think it is a 3×3 area. Remove the river and demolish the cliff by the corners. At the end, create a curved cliff and another one at the other end, then demolish the middle cliff.

Preventing wasp stings

To prevent getting stung by wasps when shaking a tree, use the following trick to safely catch them every time. First, equip a net. Before shaking the tree, make sure the squares of land down-left and down-right of the tree are clear of items, plants, or any other obstacles. Shake the tree while standing south (with the tree directly “above” you from your perspective). If a wasp nest falls out, the player’s character will briefly turn toward it in shock before the bugs start chasing them. However, with the net already equipped and the player’s character automatically facing the swarm, they can simply press A repeatedly. As soon as they regain control, they will drop the net on top of the wasps.

Villager DIY recipes

Players may come across an animal villager crafting in their home. Talking to them will provide them with a DIY recipe. The villager will continue crafting for approximately 3-4 hours before a different villager begins crafting in their own home. Players can get a maximum of three recipes per day from their own island villagers.
