5 Legend of Zelda Games Get Mods to Make Link Gender Neutral

Are you a huge fan of Linkle, thanks to that Hyrule Warriors Legends reveal? Do you wish you could play as her in more The Legend of Zelda games? Well, you can kind of get that chance. EchoParkMacPC has made mods for Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and GameCube games that make Link a gender neutral avatar. He could still be Link, but he could also be Linkle!

It all started last month, when EchoParkMacPC made a gender neutral patch for The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past . He wants his six month old daughter to have more gaming options when she grows up, and thought it would be a sweet idea. His list of patches now includes the original The Legend of Zelda , The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX , The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap , and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess .

These patches adjust the dialogue, so instances where people would say “he” or “boy” might now say “ye” or “kiddo.” Nothing else has been changed. It’s just more neutral, so someone can decide for him or herself if Link is a boy or girl.
