A Fortnite Borderlands Collaboration Takes Players to Pandora

A Fortnite Borderlands Collaboration Takes Players to Pandora

Most of the Fortnite collaborations and such have had to do with other properties coming into the battle royale. But now, another game has found its way into this one. Epic Games has revealed it is working with Gearbox to bring a little Mayhem into folks’ lives. The Fortnite Borderlands event has begun and will run until September 10, 2019.

The will be free and paid Fortnite Borderlands items during this event. The free stuff means getting to go to a new location, which is Pandora from the Gearbox series. It is in the Pandora Rift Zone, where you can generate a Borderlands -like shield if you don’t take damage. You can also make your own Pandora in Fortnite Creative, with new parts, and use a camera filter inspired by it. A free Welcome to Pandora Challenge Bundle is available with a Mayhem Wrap, two themed sprays and a Vault Hunter banner.

The paid item involves a totally new look. Two Borderlands icons are in Fortnite! Should you spend real money, you can get a Psycho Bundle. This looks like the familiar enemy that graces the cover of every Borderlands game. On his back will be Claptrap. Since this is purely cosmetic, don’t expect any commentary or quips.

Fortnite collaborations with popular properties aren’t all that uncommon. One of the most notable was from 2018. It teamed up with Avengers: Infinity War to bring Thanos to the game. If you found the Infinity Gauntlet while playing, you would get to turn into him and get to be the powerful villain. Marshmello also appeared to perform a free concert in the game as another event. NFL skins appeared as a collaborative affair.
