E3 is going to be a lot sparser this year. Another major player is scaling back. Typically, Activision Blizzard has one of the biggest booths in the place, but this year it’s opting out of that. The Los Angeles Convention Center’s South Hall will be a lot emptier without that massive Activision booth in the back.
Activision made the announcement yesterday. It confirmed the company will be at E3 2016, showing off Infinity Ward’s new Call of Duty game and reaffirming a partnership with the series and PlayStation. However, there’ll only be meetings and appointments. People can’t walk up to a booth and see gameplay or try the game.
This is the second major company to scale back its E3 2016 presence. EA already confirmed in January that it will hold its own fan event in Los Angeles at the same time as E3.
