Armored Core V Blocked From 2011

None

Originally intended to see a Japanese release in October of 2011, Armored Core V has officially been pushed back to January of 2012. Why the change? From Software cites the recent beta as the impetus for their decision, noting that it revealed several issues that required attention before the game could see a retail release.

The beta, which came late on the PlayStation 3 due to the PSN outage, concluded in July. The Xbox 360 beta, however, has been struck by a bug that is currently under investigation.

Armored Core V’s beta was undertaken as a means of publicly testing the game’s redesigned multiplayer, which eschews the more personal battles of games past for a fast-paced, large-scale team structure in a persistent, online world. Such ideas have seen success before in earlier mech titles such as Chromehounds and Steel Battalion: Line of Contact, both of which counted online matches toward the progress of one’s nation on an overall world map.
