Attack on Titan Game Getting Some Fresh Story Content

Attack on Titan Game Getting Some Fresh Story Content

I never quite understood the appeal of Attack on Titan. I only watched three episodes, so maybe I should give it another shot, but there was a little too much melodrama for me – and coming from an anime lover, that’s saying a lot. One thing I did love about the show was the action. That gas-powered maneuverability system and dual-swords combo is the coolest combat rig I’ve seen in a long time. Not since I was a kid have I wanted so badly to actually have and play with a weapon I saw in a cartoon. That’s why I’m really excited that Omega Force, the developer behind the Dynasty Warriors games and the more recent Dragon Quest Heroes , is in charge of development for the impending Attack on Titan release for the PS3, PS4, and PS Vita.

The game’s story mode will take players through all of the events and highlights from the first season of the show. It’s been produced in such a way that anyone can jump right in and get a feel for the story, even if they’ve never seen the show before. Thankfully for loyal fans, there will be some fresh story elements as well. In a Famitsu interview (translated by Gematsu ) with the game’s producer and director, it was revealed that the game will feature all-new story content written by creator Hajime Isayama. The interview also reveals ten playable characters, a post-story free-mode (with more of a Dynasty Warriors feel), and an “Investigation Outside the Walls Mode” where players will be strengthening their characters and farming up materials and money. Attack on Titan is due out in February in Japan; no official release date for westerners just yet.
