Who’s Fallout 4’ s best character? Anyone who’s spent any amount of time with the game knows that answer. It’s Dogmeat, your constant canine companion. He’s the best and, thanks to a mod from Abbalovesyou called (appropriately enough) Be the Dog, you can… be the dog!
Here’s how the Fallout 4 mod works. After you’ve downloaded Be the Dog and added it to your game, bring up console commands. Choose “setrace,” press the spacebar, then “1dogmeat.” Your Sole Survivor will be transformed into Dogmeat. You can only use dog equipment and have bite attacks, and you can’t use the Pipboy.
As a bonus, you can be other dogs too. Putting in “setrace 1raiderdog” or “setrace 1viciousdog” and you can be a raider dog or feral dog. But really, why would you want to be anyone other than Dogmeat? I mean, I can’t wait for consoles to get Fallout 4 mod compatibility so I can experience the Commonwealth through his eyes!
